Coppell's Holiday Calendar Runs on Saturday Double-Headers, and December 5 Carries the Most

At 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, two doors open about the same time on opposite sides of Old Town Coppell. Vendor booths for The Boho Market's Vintage Christmas Market go up at 489 W. Bethel Road. Kids ages 3 to 12 can pick up a free craft kit inside the Coppell Arts Center at 505 Travis Street. Both wrap up at noon. Six hours later, the City's Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting starts and runs until 9 p.m., ending at Andrew Brown Park East on Parkway Boulevard.

That Saturday has more holiday programming than any other date this season, and it follows a pattern that turns up several times on the City of Coppell's November and December calendar. On November 14, November 21 and December 5, a morning event shares the day with an afternoon or evening one, usually in a different part of town. Planning the season comes down to choosing which of those Saturdays to keep and which half of each day suits your household.

December 5, Hour by Hour

Time Event Where Cost listed
9 a.m. to noon Saturday Make & Take Crafts, ages 3 to 12 Coppell Arts Center, 505 Travis St. Free
9 a.m. to noon The Boho Market Old Town Coppell Vintage Christmas Market Old Town Coppell, 489 W. Bethel Rd. Free admission and parking
6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting Andrew Brown Park East, 260 Parkway Blvd. Not listed

The Arts Center craft happens on the first Saturday of every month, and in 2026 that first Saturday happens to be parade day. Each child gets a do-it-yourself kit to put together at the art stations inside, and a parent has to stay with the child the whole time.

On its event page, The Boho Market describes its booths as part of "the city's vintage holiday celebration." The market also promises live music and festive photo ops, and it bills itself as family-friendly. If you're shopping for gifts, the morning is the time to go.

The City's 2026 parade listing gives the time and the park, and its Holidays page is where to check for route and parking details closer to the date. Last year's format is a good guide. The City's 2025 listing described a lighted parade starting at 6 p.m. with decorated floats. It ended at Andrew Brown Park East, where holiday activities, entertainment and treats followed. The 2026 event keeps the same 6 p.m. start and the same park.

The Saturdays That Build Up to It

December 5 is the busiest stretch, but November sets up the same pattern a few times first. Here are the Saturdays in order, with the weekday events between them.

  1. Thursday, November 5 through Sunday, November 8. The Friends of the Coppell Public Library hold their Big Book Sale at Cozby Library & Community Commons, 177 N. Heartz Road, with gently used books, DVDs, magazines and puzzles. Thursday's 4 to 8 p.m. session costs $10, and Friends members get in free. Admission is free for everyone Friday through Sunday.
  2. Thursday, November 5, 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Kindred Writing Collective hosts a Local Authors Showcase in the Arts Center's black box theater. Authors will read from the group's newest anthology, a collection of revenge-themed modern fairytales. No registration is required, and the event is for adults 18 and older.
  3. Saturday, November 7, 9 a.m. to noon. The November edition of the Arts Center's free Make & Take Crafts.
  4. Wednesday, November 11. The City's Veterans Day Ceremony at Veterans Plaza, 255 Parkway Blvd. The calendar shows it as an all-day entry, so check the listing for the ceremony time.
  5. Saturday, November 14, morning. The Handmade Harvest Craft Fair runs 9 a.m. to noon at the Coppell Senior & Community Center, 345 W. Bethel Rd., with gifts from local makers.
  6. Saturday, November 14, evening. Voices of Rock plays the Arts Center from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The group covers Styx, Boston, Kansas, Toto, Van Halen and other classic rock bands.
  7. Saturday, November 21, morning. The Gobble Wobble 5K & Fun Run starts at 8 a.m. at Andrew Brown Park East, the same park where the parade ends two weeks later.
  8. Saturday, November 21, afternoon. Wrapping the Holidays with Magic runs 2 to 4 p.m. at Cozby Library. It's for ages 14 and up, and no registration is required.

Nov. 14 and Nov. 21 both put a morning event and a later event on the same day, just like December 5. On the 14th you can shop for handmade gifts on West Bethel in the morning and catch a rock show on Travis Street that night. On the 21st you can run a 5K before breakfast and wrap gifts after lunch.

Cozby Library Keeps Going After the Parade

Cozby Library & Community Commons carries the season's holiday programming past December 5, with family and adult events running well into the month.

The day after the parade, Sunday, December 6, the library hosts a Holiday Concert with HarpEssence from 2 to 3:30 p.m. It's free and needs no registration.

On Monday, December 7, Santa Storytime runs from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Santa reads books, there are songs, and families can take photos with him. The listing says it's meant for families with young children, but all ages are welcome.

Put those together and the first weekend of December runs three days straight. You get the market, the craft and the parade on Saturday, harp music on Sunday, and Santa on Monday morning, all without leaving town.

After that, the library's schedule moves toward evenings and adults:

  • Sunday, December 13, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Cozby Crafts: Frost Jar Luminaries, for ages 18 and up, with no registration required.
  • Tuesday, December 15, 6 to 7 p.m. North Pole Family Fun Night, with stories, songs, games and crafts.

One practical note applies all season. Cozby's regular weekday storytimes, such as Toddler Time and Preschool Storytime, require a ticket. The library hands them out at the front desk 30 minutes before each session, first come, first served, and space is limited.

The Ticketed Weekend Comes One Week Later

Most of the City's holiday events are free, but one December weekend is ticketed. The Sunkicks bring Home for the Holidays to the Arts Center's Main Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, with 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. shows on Sunday, December 13. The City calls it an "all-new holiday musical" with a soundtrack of holiday favorites and a full kickline. Ticket links are on the City's December calendar.

The 2 p.m. Sunday show overlaps the Frost Jar Luminaries craft at Cozby, which runs 1 to 2:30 p.m. Adults who want both can make luminaries on Heartz Road in the afternoon and see the 7:30 p.m. show on Travis Street that night.

Two Ribbon Cuttings on the November Calendar

The Coppell Chamber of Commerce has two ribbon cuttings on the books in November, which gives you two local businesses to know about before you start your holiday errands.

  • Floral Casa, Friday, November 6, noon to 1 p.m., 213 Pecan Hollow Dr. The Chamber invitation describes a floral studio celebration with interactive stations, raffle prizes, discounts, flower vending and drone-delivery demonstrations. Space is limited, and guests are asked to RSVP.
  • Urban Egg, Monday, November 16, 10 to 10:30 a.m., 2627 S. Belt Line Rd. The Chamber listing confirms the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the South Belt Line address.

A local floral studio with drone delivery on its demo list is worth remembering for centerpieces and hostess gifts. Urban Egg's ceremony on Belt Line lands the Monday before Thanksgiving week.

Where Each Part of the Season Happens

Each part of Coppell hosts a different kind of event this season. Most of the outdoor civic events happen along Parkway Boulevard: the Veterans Day Ceremony at Veterans Plaza on November 11, then the Gobble Wobble and the parade's finish at Andrew Brown Park East. Cozby Library on North Heartz Road hosts the indoor family events. Old Town and the Arts Center hold the shopping, crafts and stage shows, and the Senior & Community Center on West Bethel has the handmade gift fair. On December 5, events run in Old Town in the morning and on Parkway at night.

Our family has the parade on the calendar already, and we'd love to see you there. If a holiday move is on your mind and you'd like to know how December affects timing in Coppell, The Hahn Team can walk you through it over coffee in Old Town, any Saturday you can spare a morning.
